High School Principal

Some of you may be aware that Mr. Jared Davis, the former Washington Academy Principal for Grades 7-12, recently announced that he has accepted a new position with the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES as Principal of Career and Technical Education and Early College Career Academy. While we are happy for Mr. Davis and believe he will excel in his new role, we will miss his leadership at the Washington Academy.

We thank Mr. Davis for his dedication and collaboration during his four-year tenure at Salem Central School District. Mr. Davis connected with and inspired our High School students and staff and has been an integral part of our school community. As we move forward, please welcome our new Interim Principal, David Eagle.

The Salem Central Board of Education approved and announced the hire of David Eagle as the Interim Principal for Grades 7-12 at a special Board of Education meeting on Monday, October 1, 2018. David’s position is effective starting October 3, 2018, through June 30, 2019.

Mr. Davis was an integral part of our school community and we anticipate the same from David Eagle,” said District Superintendent, David Glover. “Mr. Eagle has been an interim principal in our district before and we look forward to his return. Our goal in this process is to appoint the new Grades 7-12 Principal at the beginning of the 2019-20 School Year.”

Mr. Eagle previously held the position as Salem’s Grades 7-12 Interim Principal in 2013. He worked with our District for five months, improving school morale and building positive relationships with both staff and students. Aside from his work with the Salem Central School District, he was a Principal and a Director of Counseling and Guidance at Lake George High School, worked as an Adjunct Professor at Castleton College and SUNY Plattsburgh at the Adirondack Community College campus, and was an Interim Assistant Principal at the Hudson Falls High School.

David and his wife, Leslie, live in Lake George and have two daughters, Brooke and Jessica, and a two-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter, Kaiana. In his free time, David enjoys playing golf, racquetball, and boating on Lake George.
